Michelle Lucaccioni has been involved in the International Trade Segment of the Insurance Field since 1993 and has held various roles throughout her career in both agency and company surety underwriting and claims operations.
In 2009, Michelle developed a U.S. Customs and Transportation Surety Managing General Underwriting and Claims division within the Marine division of Navigators Management Company, Inc. where she resides today, managing the Navigators Customs & Transportation Surety Bond operation. The startup of this division entailed building an underwriting and claims team of highly skilled professionals, developing and securing reinsurance contracts, underwriting guidelines and other procedural manuals along with the development and creation of a Bond Issuance System and a Claims and Underwriting System that stores U. S. Customs data and translates it into a manageable data base used for risk management as well as electronic bond issuance, management and termination.
Michelle’s current role is Vice President, U.S. Customs, Trade and Transportation Surety with TMHCC – Surety Group. Tokio Marine HCC is a leading specialty insurance group with offices in the United States, Mexico, the United Kingdom, and continental Europe, transacting business in approximately 180 countries and underwriting more than 100 classes of specialty insurance.
Michelle holds Insurance Licenses in several States in the U.S. and is active in several Industry Associations and Committees. She is the Customs Chair and instructor of the Surety and Fidelity Association of America (SFAA), and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers (NASABP). The Treasurer of the International Trade Surety Association (ITSA), and she is active in the bond working groups for the Commercial Customs Operations Advisory Committee (COAC) and the Customs Trade Support Network (TSN).
